Solutions? the first thing i did was googling my problem, no luck, so i went into firewall settings and found out that utorrent peer finder wasn't in exceptions list, so i checked it as acception and continued. I do not wish to come here 'half baked', per se, but rather submit to you a high degree of information intrinsic to the matter at hand.Īgain, I offer my appreciation and gratitude to you for your expertise.Hello dannyz2000! my name is Boris and i had the same problem, well i was on windows XP for about 2-3 years and i use utorrent since i have my laptop, it was working perfectly, but recently because of all that bullsh*t with windows XP support stopping and stuff my windows occured big errors and i had to re-install my windows to 7 ultimate, i have downloaded and installed utorrent and i have downloaded some movies and games trough it without any problems, but today when i got up from bed i discovered that u-torrent wont download anything, my windows was installed yesterday and i haven't changed anything in options, neither in firewall. As soon as possible, I will submit our progress to this thread for your analysis. Albeit, I am rather a quick study in terms of the technology arena. The BitTorrent process is relatively new to us and I, unfortunately, am not well versed in the field. Switek, I most certainly appreciate your patience and interest in our dilemma. I have told them that we use the BitTorrents for my engineering consulting business and my partners graphic design business, which we do. Now, as you mentioned about 'crappy bronze' router's, I don't know, but I did tell Charter that I may decide to purchase my own router rather than rent the SMC unit from them. We are at the phase of coordinating with Speed Guide's port checker. At present, I am attempting to set our network up using the utorrent set-up guide. I have hard copied the links you have provided-i.e.- 'last post in 'Ultima's' thread- and am setting up a progressive troubleshooting chart. First order of business was to contact Charter Communications to get the user id and pword to access the router. We have been out of town on business and just returned. Would someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction as what to do? Also, please remember, I am relatively new to the torrent scene and am just a lowly mechanical engineer. I even went to the extent of printing copies of the posts as a guide and checklist. I have tried to reset all of the parameters as illustrated by 'Pelo' and 'switek' in these forums. The pipe coming into the house is feeding 28+Mb/s download/4+Mb/s upload the majority of the time. The issue is that when accessing the set-up in utorrent and running the test, it always fails the bandwith test- no matter what the server locale is or the upload value is. We have 2 pc's hardwired via cat5 ethernet and a laptop that runs wireless. This required the installation of an SMC D3GN wireless modem. Since then, the only variables that have changed are that 1) My Windows XP SP3 Home crashed beyond repair, 2) I downloaded Win XP SP3 Pro from a tracker (very good w/ legit key!), and last, we upgraded our service from 8Mb/s to 25Mb/s from our ISP (cable company). Last summer, utorrent worked fine for me and was fast. Hello- First, I know this subject has been brought up a lot and I spent 2 hrs.
